Window Displays

Last week we finished the installation of our Brighton shop window display for the Autumn/Winter season. We try and change up this window display at least four times a year – each time we put in a huge amount of effort – this year was no exception.

Each time we use a mix of brand new and existing products and accessories from across our wide portfolio of brands.

Dark Stairs and Mouse Light

First we painted the stairs in a deep dark blue – we used Como Blue in Elite Emulsion by Zoffany – tougher than traditional emulsions, it’s easy to clean and which makes it ideal for high traffic areas. We stock the entire range of Zoffany paints which are low VOC and come in a range of 156 exquisite shades.

Painting the stairs dark made them look more modern and gave the optical illusion of pushing them into the background – this gives centre stage to the incredible blue Franklin stair runner by Roger Oates

To further make a feature of the stairs we used these smart brass stair rods by StairrodsUK to finish the look. Stair rods aren’t necessary for stair runners as the material is fixed to high quality underlay – stair rods are simply decorative and give a great smart traditional finish; plus I wanted an additional gleam for the winter season and I love the combination of Navy & Brass.

Hung above the stairs – fitting perfectly into the bay of our lovely Dickension window is the show-stopping crystal Lartigue chandelier by Porta Romana – we’ve used dark blue silk shades with a rich gold lining to give warmth and pick up on the subtle brass and gold accents through-out the window. Changing the lining of your shades can make an enormous difference to the quality and colour of light produced by lamps. Pop into our shops to see all the different choices available.

I recently fell in love with the incredible Artemis Wallpaper by House of Hackney – Paying homage to William Morris, ‘Artemis’ showcases the non-conformist approach to design House of Hackney is known for. This intricate print, which features feral flowers painted in watercolour, is inspired by Diana Vreeland’s iconic Garden in Hell room. Available in seven delicious colours including a shocking Neon Pink and also as a fabric – shop here:

Dotted around to inject a little humour are these tiny white mice by brilliant Italian homeware brand Seletti – they are also available in gold and other colours – to see the full collection Seletti do click here – contact our shops to place an order.

Using Solare fabric by Clarke & Clarke we created a dark and drapey side panel and pulled it back with a punchy yellow rope tie-back by French brand Houles.

Lastly I added an elegant brass table to stand our beautiful pale grey Porta Romana Pear Lamp on. For details of the side table – which comes as a set of two and retails for £499 please contact our Brighton Shop.
