Edgy, smart, romantic, sophisticated – It’s difficult to choose but here are our current favourite fabrics and wallpapers which give a nod to the current trend for Dark or Winter Florals;
Straight in at the top is Midnight Garden by House of Hackney – darkly romantic it depicts a country garden after dark – this design is available as both a fabric and wallpaper..
Designers Guild really are the almighty rulers of floral design – it was incredibly difficult to choose from their extensive range but in the end their Delft Fabric won – the autumnal blooms on dramatic chalky backgrounds are available on a linen, a velvet, as a large scale design and also on a wallpaper. It seems we are not alone in our love for this design.
We really like the delicate Fairlie Fabric in Midnight by Bluebellgray:
Countess, The glorious Hydrangea print by Zoffany
A firm favourite is this incredible wallpaper by Eijffinger featuring an oversized replica of a Dutch masters Oil Painting:
Next up is Meadow by Osborne & Little featuring gorgeous pink Poppies on a dark background. Also available in other colours.
We couldn’t make a list like this and leave out the fun collaboration between high street favourite Oasis x Clarke & Clarke – in particular I love the Habana Fabric which has South American crewel work influences:
Continuing with Clarke and Clarke we’ve picked their beautiful Renaissance design which is available as both a fabric and wallpaper – shown:
Less dramatic, more delicate and available in two incredibly dark and inky shades is this gorgeous Chinoiserie wallpaper by Coordonne:
Lastly we couldn’t make a list like this without mentioning Christian Lacroix and his subversive Malmaison Fabric which extraordinary blooms overlaid with signature Lacroix candy stripes – yum!
