Ava seems to be straight out of a wonderful African story. Interpreted in the style of Henri Rousseau, a pioneer of naïve art, this dreamlike landscape displays a frankness in its style and colours that calls for freedom. It is produced on a linen and cotton base with a three metre drop using screen printing, with soft colours to suit the natural composition of the fabric. It is then entirely hand-embroidered.
