On a visit to Adam’s house many years ago, Stephen Lewis saw the design painted on a wall. He was so struck by it, he resolved there and then to find a way of printing wide wallpaper just to do it justice. We looked for a name in the Spitalfields area of London to provide a suitable title for this filigree pattern and alighted on Vallance Street. Only to find, too late, that this was home to the Kray brothers.

Voysey Park Wallpaper

Originally named Ballard Tapestry the ‘millefleurs’ in the background conjured up The Lady & The Unicorn tapestries in the Cluny museum in Paris. So we decided to turn one of the deer into a unicorn with full permission of the the V&A who felt he would have approved.
