Acanthus marked the beginning of a period in which Morris created large-scale designs for wallpaper. Bower Wallpaper

Influenced by the composition of medieval woodcuts William Morris designed Bower in 1877 as a vibrant tribute to the forest walks and flowers he so adored. Bough’s Green/Rose is the closest colour story to Morris’s original whilst Indigo and Herball offer cooler variations.
Bower returns to the Morris & Co. collection for the first time in many years in the Emery Walker’s House collection echoing the beautiful garden lovingly maintained by Dorothy Walker.
