The name for AMARANTHINE is rooted in the Greek word amarantos meaning everlasting. So it follows that this motif is an eternally elegant damask drawn from the archives of Gainsborough the renowned silk weaving mill. Now reinterpreted as a sumptuous runner this design is woven by another of Britains oldest and most prestigious manufacturers: Axminster Carpets. A true celebration of traditional craftsmanship and timeless design.

POAWhilst House of Hackney are known for creating art on walls, the master craftsmen at Axminster Carpets have been producing art on the floor for centuries. So, when they joined forces, it was only natural that they would reimagine a painterly masterpiece the GOLDEN LILY print of entwining lily stems and tendrils, originally dreamt up by Morris & Co in 1899 and transform it into the most sumptuously detailed, richly hued runner, woven in Devon from the very best British wool. Now that is art.
