    Ben first fell in love with Merton after noticing it on a friend’s parents’ sofa more than 20 years ago. Designed by John Henry Dearle in 1905  it features an ogival repeat of stylised pomegranates and tulips  surrounded by delicate flowers  apples and scrolling acanthus leaves.
