A hand drawn interpretation of an original document  its influences are thought to come from a late 19th century French artwork  painted to emulate earlier (17th to early 18th century) woven and embroidered textiles. A trail of acers, otherwise known as Japanese maple, were painted out and then printed onto a beautiful silk and linen quality. Abstract chrysanthemum heads are then embroidered over the top as if randomly falling on the leaves.
