Rambling Rose Wallpaper
£129.00Rambling Rose depicts that iconic stalwart of forest walks and cottage gardens alike the English rose. Climbing twisting and turning this thorned rose’s beguiling labyrinthine structure betrays the rose’s symbolisation of earthy love and purity. A rarer feature in his wallpapers the rose was a motif William Morris repeatedly turned to in tapestry as well as in poetry.
Rose (here called Rambling Rose) from 1877 returns to the Morris & Co. range for the first time in many years in the Emery Walker’s House collection.

Bower Wallpaper

Influenced by the composition of medieval woodcuts William Morris designed Bower in 1877 as a vibrant tribute to the forest walks and flowers he so adored. Bough’s Green/Rose is the closest colour story to Morris’s original whilst Indigo and Herball offer cooler variations.
Bower returns to the Morris & Co. collection for the first time in many years in the Emery Walker’s House collection echoing the beautiful garden lovingly maintained by Dorothy Walker.

Dearle’s training as William Morris’s tapestry apprentice is beautifully demonstrated here in Elmcote.
