We had a chance encounter with the lovely Kit Miles in 2016 when he popped into our Brighton shop after spotting the Rain Forest design he created for Osborne & Little hanging as a wallpaper in our window – Life happened to us in the form of a baby and all our grand plans had to be put on hold – however now we can finally say that this encounter finally led to us stocking all of Kit’s beautiful wallpapers in both of our shops and online.
Kit Miles founded his studio in 2013 with one vision: to create a collection steeped in the values of quality, exquisite draughtsmanship and a futuristic, often surprising use of scale colour and imagery.
He’s certainly done that.
Kit quickly gained international press attention, from the likes of World of Interiors and Elle Decoration, hailing Miles’s aptitude for designing striking and original fabrics and wallpapers as ‘vivid’ and ‘ground-breaking’
The studio is regularly invited by leading architects and interior designers the world over to bring Miles’s unique skill across projects both large and small.
His designs can now be found in the worlds most beautiful Hotels, he’s produced a range of bedding, he’s collaborated on Carpet designs with Mooi and has even designed a Toaster for Dualit.
The studio’s ability to render fine and at times surrealistic imagery have enabled Miles to form a unique language of design, under the core ethos that freedom to evolve and re-form is ever present in the application of marks onto paper and cloth.
The process of hand drawing enables the studio to render an imaginative world of design into reality, revealing a glimpse into the ever expanding printed universe of dynamic shapes and images and an exquisitely-manufactured end product.
